A Fond Farewell to Ms. Griffin

Her smile may no longer grace our classrooms and hallways, but her positive impact on our school will stay with us always.

Friday, December 17, marked Benita Griffin's last day at Moravian Academy. She will certainly be missed by learners, faculty, and staff alike. Her time at our school was celebrated in many different ways over the last two weeks, and we would like to highlight a few of them as we wish her a fond farewell.

As a school, we collectively gifted her with a slate from the original Lower School Main Building roof and a Moravian Star necklace so she can always keep us close to her heart.

Preschool assembled a gingerbread house to give to Ms. Griffin. Using very delicate fingers, each child was able to choose from a variety of decorations to make the house look beautiful and festive! It was a collaborative team effort to perfectly place the gems, stickers, erasers, bows, presents, and snow on the house. We surprised Ms. Griffin on the playground with our gift!

After practicing their speech for St. Lucia Day, first grade served Ms. Griffin with Lucia buns for the occasion.

Middle Schoolers recorded and shared thank-you messages as part of their morning announcements, and many students and faculty members took a moment to show their appreciation for Ms. Griffin's leadership.

All of this is to say that we'll miss you, Ms. Griffin! Thank you for all that you've done for our community, of which you will forever be a special part.
