A Season to Be Proud Of: Middle School Basketball

February 11, 2022

The Moravian Academy girls' and boys' basketball teams on the Downtown Campus have much to be proud of this season.

The Moravian Academy Middle School Boys’ Basketball team started the season with high potential and a very athletic group. After figuring out a starting lineup, the team was able to go on a three-game winning streak. This season was full of ups and downs but through it all the boys continued to improve and played extremely hard every game. If this group sticks together, they will be very successful in the years to come. The coaching staff is looking forward to having them back next year. Coach Steinruck and Coach Zackey say, "Thanks for a great season."

The Middle School Girls' Basketball Team had another successful season: finishing with a record of 8-5. We battled through some difficult situations and circumstances related to the pandemic and other breaks in the season, but despite these challenges, we continued to learn and grow; to challenge ourselves and each other; to try our best and be our best; to be safe and have fun.

We will miss our 8th graders next season. We appreciate all that they contributed to our team and our program, and we wish them the best of luck as they move on next year; while at the same time, we look forward to a fresh start next winter, as we welcome back a wonderful group of talented underclassmen.

"Girls, you should be proud of how you handled yourselves and how you came together for each other throughout the season! Thanks for a great season," said Coach Brennan and Coach McKay.
