With the Upper School exam period this week, our teams competitive load was lighter than usual.
Our Varsity boys and girls swim teams had the week off from competition. The girls defeated Phillipsburg HS last weekend while the boys’ team lost a close contest. Both teams return to the pool today as they travel to Pocono Mt. West High School for a 4 pm meet.
The Varsity Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball teams also had a slow week. The girls’ team traveled to Palisades HS on Tuesday evening and defeated the Pirates by a score of 58-45. With the win, the girls’ record now stands at 10-3 and the team has qualified for the District XI playoffs. Maya Ettle '20 needs 25 points to reach the 1000 point milestone. The team returns to the hardwood tonight as they travel to Pen Argyl.
The Varsity Boys’ Basketball team hosted Palisades Tuesday. The Lions pulled off a victory by a 67-63 score. Abe Atiyeh '20 finished off the night with a career high 40 points to lead all scorers. The boys also return to action to face Pen Argyl on Friday night. The boys’ record now stands at 9-3.
Busy week coming up for both basketball programs as both teams will have four important league games. As always please stay up to date with our teams by following them on the moravianathletics.org site.
Go Lions!
