Athletics News Update: December 20, 2019
It’s been a busy week for our winter teams as they head into the holiday break.
Our boys' and girls' swim teams competed hard against Southern Lehigh last Monday and suffered their first loss of the season. Both teams however bounced back quickly as they finished the week 1-1 with defeating Allen High School this past Thursday. The team will now take a break from competition during the holidays and will return to action in the new year as they travel to Nazareth on January 7th. There continues to be some impressive individual performances as athletes are breaking team and pool records.
Our boys’ basketball team has found the road to be a hard place to compete. After a tough double overtime loss to Northwestern on Tuesday, the team was again defeated by local rival Notre Dame of Green Pond. As they close out the week Friday and host Wilson for an important league game, the team hopes that the confines of the Athletic and Wellness Center will help them return to the winning ways. The team’s record currently stands at 3-3.
After a 4-0 start, our girls’ basketball team has suffered a couple of home defeats to Northwestern and Notre Dame of Green Pond. Before taking a hiatus from game competition, they will return to action as the team travels to Philadelphia on Saturday to take on West Catholic High School as they take part in the Imhotep tournament. The girls’ basketball team record is 4-2.
