Our student-athletes have been in the process of navigating the end of the semester and a busy competition schedule.
We did have the opportunity to recognize our senior boys’ basketball players and their families on Saturday, 1/22. Congratulations to Soren Gandhi '22, Jay Jiang '22, Treyton Messman '22, and Abhishek Patel '22. Thank you for the contributions that you have made to our community over the course of the last four years.
It’s been an exciting week for the boys as they defeated Wilson on an overtime buzzer beater by senior Abhishek Patel '22. The team could not repeat that feat and were defeated our neighbors Notre Dame of Green Pond on Thursday night. They will return to the hardwood weather-pending on Saturday as they travel to Palisades high school.
Our varsity girls’ basketball team has hit a tough stretch. After losing 4 in a row, they will look to bounce back as we host Palisades for a Saturday morning match up. The team’s record stands at 7-9 and continues to be in the mix for District playoff spot.
It has also been busy for the swimmers. The teams traveled to Saucon Valley last Saturday and posted some good performances. The boys’ team defeated the Panthers by a 111-44 score while the girls’ team lost 113-54. Both teams will get back in the pool today as they travel to Freedom High School to close out the week. This meet was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday but was moved due to the weather forecast.
We are looking forward to the spring athletics season! Spring sport practices will begin on Monday, March 7, with competitions beginning on March 25. Please continue to log on to moravianathletics.org to access practice and game schedules.
Go Lions!
