Athletics Update: May 7, 2021

Written by Manny Oudin | May 7, 2021 12:30:00 PM

Although we are nearing the end of the regular season for some of our spring sports, we are in full preparation mode for the fall of 2021.

Please mark your calendars as we will be hosting PIAA Sports Physicals on Thursday, June 10, from 5 PM – 8 PM in the Athletic and Wellness Center on the Merle-Smith Campus. Our partners at St. Luke’s University Health Network will be running the event. More details to follow in the coming weeks!

Speaking of the fall season, fall sports spring practices will begin on Monday, August 16, at the Upper School and Monday, August 23, at the Middle School.

Our teams and coaches have continued to demonstrate flexibility as the weather stays unpredictable. This past week, we did have the opportunity to celebrate our two senior girls’ lacrosse players, DeDee Hoffman '21 and Maya Ohlandt '21. Both girls mentioned being happy with having the chance to play a full season this spring after losing last year due to the shutdown. Congratulations to DeDee and Maya!

The varsity boys' tennis team’s season ended yesterday with a tough loss in the District XI Team semi-finals.  They were defeated by Allentown Central Catholic by a score of 3-2.  Some of the boys’ season will continue as they start competing in the District XI doubles tournament.

We are also looking forward to honoring our seniors on the baseball team on Monday, May 10, as the team welcomes Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg. Our final senior day recognition will take place on Wednesday, May 12, as we celebrate our senior boys’ lacrosse players as they take on Saucon Valley.

Our track and field athletes are also looking forward to an exciting week and they compete with Notre Dame of Green Pond in the Colonial League Championships on Tuesday, May 11 at 2:30 PM at Bangor Memorial Park.

Good luck to all of our student-athletes as they look for a strong finish!

Please remember that practice and game schedules are posted below. Parents and fans can also sign up to receive instant notification of schedule changes.
