There was a lot of student-athletes sporting gold medals around campus this week! The varsity girls and boys Soccer teams were both victorious in the District XI finals.

Girls’ soccer got the day started with an exciting 1-0 victory over #1 seed, Pine Grove. Angel Deluhery '25 scored the overtime winner.  This is the 6th consecutive District title for the girls’ soccer team.  The team has advanced to the 1st round of the PIAA State Tournament and will face either Lakeland or Montrose on Tuesday, 11/7.  More information to be announced.

The boys’ soccer team followed by defeating Palisades by a 4-1 score to secure their 11th consecutive District Championship.  The team scored four second half goals overcoming a 1-0 deficit at the half.  The boys will play Benton High School also on Tuesday, 11/7, at a site to be determined.

We continue to be thankful for the cooperative sponsorship opportunities with Notre Dame of Green Pond.  Denali Cintron '24 and Analia Claros '24 who are members of the girls’ volleyball team at Notre Dame helped them secure a District XI title!  Congratulations!  Next up for them is the first round of the PIAA Volleyball Championship on Tuesday, 11/7.

Chessie Bartolacci '24 competed in the PIAA State Tennis Singles Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Hershey.  After winning the District singles title for the third time in four years, she closed out her high school career in great fashion by taking third.

The field hockey team’s quest for a District title came to an end as they lost to District runner up, Palmerton, earlier this week.  The team should be proud of their accomplishments as they finished the regular season with an 8-7-1 record and competed in both the Colonial League and District XI Tournaments.

The girls’ cross-country teams and Krish Gupta '24 from our boys’ team competed in the PIAA State Cross Country State meet on Saturday.  Last year’s 1A State Champion, Virginia Kraus '26, produced a repeat performance, once again taking the championship.

Go Lions!
