Athletics Update: September 7, 2023
The fall athletic season is in full swing with approximately two hundred and thirty student-athletes participating in a sport across our three campuses. It is clear that our students are excited about participating in our co-curricular activities.
Athletics update as of Thursday, September 7, 2023.
The golf team finished its season with a 11-0 record. With only two matches left in the regular season, the team is looking forward to competing in the Colonial League Tournament at Bethlehem Municipal on Monday, September 18. The group has posted some impressive rounds, breaking 400 as a team on three different occasions.
The girls’ varsity tennis team is currently 5-0 in the Colonial League, 6-0 overall and seats in first place in the league standings. The team will compete in the Colonial League Tournament that will take place on September 28 at Saucon Valley High School.
Coming off the State Championship season, the boys’ varsity soccer has been playing very well so far this season and has 3-0 overall record. They are currently in a three-way tie for first place in the standings with Northwestern and Wilson. They are heading into a challenging stretch of games with matches versus Bangor on Saturday set for a 10 AM kickoff. They will also face Wilson and Northwestern this coming week.
The girls’ varsity field hockey team is also enjoying a successful start to the season. After suffering a season opening loss to Northwestern, the team has rebounded with three straight victories. The team’s overall record is 3-1 and They are in 1st place in the East Division. With three games in 6 days, the team will look to continue their winning ways.
The boys’ and girls’ cross-country team were scheduled to begin the League schedule this week, but our home meet was postponed due the temperatures. The runners have competed well early in the season as the teams ran in the Moravian Academy Lions’ Invitational and the Northampton Invitational. Coming off an exceptional first-year campaign, Virginia Kraus '26 started the year right where she left off by winning both invitationals in impressive fashion.
The girls’ soccer team has started the season with mixed results although they posted an impressive 1-0 victory over Southern Lehigh in League play. The team’s record is 1-3 overall as they head into a busy portion of the League schedule.
