Our female student-athletes were the highlight of the week for our Athletic teams! Grace Sanborn '21 won the District Individual Golf AA Title in impressive fashion this past Wednesday at the Steel Club. She shot a 76 to finish 4 over par to earn the Gold medal and a spot in the PIAA Individual Championship. Grace ended the round on a high note as she birdied the 18th hole. That event will take place on Monday October 19th at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York. Joining her in York will be Joe Smith '23 as he finished in 3rd place in the District Championship and also earned a spot in the PIAA Individual Championship. The Varsity Golf’s team season came to an end as they earned the silver medal in the District XI team championship. Thank you to our two seniors Grace Sanborn '21 and Armaan Pandher '21!
Right down the road from the Steel Club at Saucon Valley High School, Chessie Bartolacci '24 made quick work of her opponents as she won the District XI AA Singles Title! Chessie will now look to compete in the PIAA AA Singles Tennis Championship.
The Girls’ Tennis took some time to celebrate their seniors, Deirdre Hoffman '21, Jordyn Holjes '21, Maclaine Oskin '21, and Sophie Reynolds '21 on Thursday October 8th after defeating Colonial League opponent Bangor by a score of 5-0. Coach Brown and Coach Lazo thanked the girls and their parents for their dedication and hard work over the course of the last four years on the courts. Thank you!! The team will now shift their focus on the Team District competition. The first round is set for Monday 10/12 at 3:00 pm on the Moravian Academy Tennis courts.
The Girls’ Cross-Country team was 2-1 this week as the team ran at Saucon Valley High School. Lily Eyvazzadeh '22 finished in 7th overall with 21:22 while Krysta Nichols '21 earned a 9th place finish with a 21:30 time. The Boys’ Cross-Country team was 1-2. The team was led by Mason Tran '21 who finished in the 12th spot with a time of 17:44. Theo Urban '22 ran an 18:12 was our second male finisher.
Our Field Hockey team continues to be in the hunt for Colonial League and District XI playoff spots. They will need to finish the week with a strong performance as we host Bangor today. The team will look to build off a strong game vs. Palisades midweek as the Lions beat the Pirates by a 3-0 score.
The Varsity Girls’ Soccer earned a hard fought 1-0 victory in double overtime on Thursday vs. Salisbury. Click HERE to see Chloe Oudin '22 make the winning goal. The win has clinched a District XI playoff spot for the girls. They look to solidify a Colonial League post-season opportunity with a game today vs. Saucon Valley.
The Varsity Boys’ Soccer team also clinched a District XI playoff berth this week and are currently the #1 ranked team in the District. With a 5-0 Colonial League record, the boys also look poise to earn the chance to defend their league title.
