Becoming Mesopotamian Scribes

October 08, 2021

In social studies class, sixth-graders are learning about the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia.

The students are learning about cuneiform, the written language of the Mesopotamians. Cuneiform is the first ever written language!  The ancient Mesopotamians would carve into wet clay tablets to keep track of records.

Recently, students had the chance to be ancient Mesopotamian scribes and write their own names in cuneiform. Sixth grade loves learning about ancient history through hands-on experiences!
