It has been a busy week on the athletic fields despite mother nature’s lack of cooperation. One of the highlights of any season is having the opportunity to celebrate our senior team members.
After a strong victory over our neighbors from Notre Dame Green Pond, we took some time to celebrate our four senior boys’ tennis players. Congratulations to Jules Bemporad, Ravi Manne, Nader Rifai, and Niketh Surya for their contributions to our program! This group is looking to lead the way to another District XI title! The team will conclude its regular season next week and compete in the Colonial League Championship on Thursday, April 22, at 12 PM at Saucon Valley High School.
Busy week as well on the diamond, as our baseball team will host Saucon Valley this afternoon on the Merle-Smith campus with a 4 PM start. Then it’s time to warm up the bus as they travel to Bangor on Monday, April 19, and Palisades on Friday, April 23 for a pair of Colonial League match-ups.
It was a tough week for our lacrosse programs as they faced East Penn Conference opponents, Easton and Parkland! The boys’ program competed well, but lost on Easton’s newly renovated turf field by a 5-3 score and returned home on Thursday to fall to Parkland by a 9-4 score. The boys’ will look to rebound as they travel to Nazareth on Tuesday April 20 for an evening game. The girls’ lacrosse week continues as they will close out a challenging schedule as they travel to Freedom today for a 4 PM start. The team competed hard at Parkland on Thursday night but fell to the Trojans by a score of 13-5.
Good luck to our student-athletes and coaches!
