Our 6th-grade humanity friends learned about Era 2 and crafted Stone Age pieces of art including life size cave paintings.
Era 2 is defined as the time period of early humans between 250,000 years BP to 3,000 BCE. During the study of this time period, our 6th-graders learned about the transition from Forging to Farming, communication, and daily life. Most recently, they created items to represent items and images that would be common for people of this time. They crafted stone necklaces using clay that was molded into teeth and stone, "leather" pouches, and life size cave paintings.
The cave painting included images of animals, handprints, and scenes that represent life from that era.
