Lower and Middle School students learned about the Chinese Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second largest holiday in China and is celebrated in several other Asian countries and regions. Similar to Thanksgiving in the U.S., families gather to enjoy the food the fall brings and appreciate the moonlight.
With great excitement, kindergartner Emma Shi '33 shared the legend of Moon Festival with her teachers and friends!
Chinese Teacher Ms. Ivy Zhao and fifth-grade students in her class decorated with paper lanterns to celebrate. Students enjoyed a special treat -- mochi!
We hope our entire community enjoyed the full moon!
