The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) ranked Claudia Hernandez '21 among their top 400 high school women, awarding her the Aspirations in Computing National Honorable Mention.
The honor is the NCWIT's second-highest national distinction. Hernandez was recognized for her technological achievements. The honor includes national recognition, a trophy, monetary award, and the chance to win their regional affiliates first prize.
According to NCWIT, awardees are selected by demonstrating "their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education."
