This past week was a joyous and memorable one for Moravian Academy! We celebrated the Class of 2019 during both Baccalaureate on May 31st and our 277th Commencement Ceremony on June 1st.
During Baccalaureate, held at Central Moravian Church, Kevin Ferdinand, Upper School history teacher and faculty speaker selected by the Class of 2019, charged the graduates with creating the conditions for happiness to happen in their lives. “I feel the most complete form of happiness will not happen through achieving a result or goal, but rather as a byproduct of your activities, your vocation or calling, your friendships, your intellectual and spiritual pursuits, and through your different communities. My hope is that you will create the conditions for happiness to occur and that happiness will happen to all of you.”
At Commencement, class president Michael Schellenberg ‘19 remembered all the ways the class of 2019 is leaving a legacy for the students that will follow in their footsteps. “Our class has been a part of everything that Moravian Academy had to offer, and every single time we got involved we made our school better, allowing those that come after us to continue the traditions that we knew as freshmen. We were mentors for those younger than us. This is the legacy that we have left.”
Relive every moment of Baccalaureate and Commencement, through photo galleries provided by Amico Studios and video recordings captured by our staff (see below).
With guidance from our expert college counselors, the Class of 2019 took ownership of their college search and gained admission to excellent right-fit institutions. I offer my congratulations to these colleges and universities as I know they’ve gained students who will immediately contribute to and enhance their campuses.

In closing, we invite you to watch Moravian Academy Rewind a film created by Kalli Miller ‘19 for her Comenius Project.
