Elective Heads to The Knitter's Edge
The Middle School’s knitting elective ventured into new territory this spring, both literally and figuratively!
Students entered the class with a variety of skills, and they did a fantastic job helping each other learn traditional knitting, crocheting, and finger knitting.
The group enjoyed a field trip to Pennsylvania’s biggest local yarn shop—The Knitter’s Edge—where they were treated to a tour of the store, led through hands-on learning activities, and sent home with complimentary yarn and patterns. When the springtime weather hit, knitters eagerly headed outside again with their supplies in tow.
Several crafters shared their talents with others by creating gift items, and Arlie Seymour ‘29 even made a baby blanket for her teacher’s baby-to-be! A big thank you goes out to our young knitters for their enthusiasm and teamwork, and to The Knitter’s Edge for hosting us so graciously.
