Preschool - 1st-grade students visited the Western Salisbury Fire Department (lovingly referred to as the Swain firehouse) last week. In addition, students in grades 2-5 heard Chief Josh Wells speak to students about fire safety. All students were able to see the trucks in action, and some were even able to shoot the hoses and climb in the fire trucks! All students came away with a firm understanding of what firefighters do, how they help their communities, and how to be safe if there is a fire.
