Mrs. Bowser’s and Ms. Endress’ classes joined up with Mrs. Turcotte’s sixth-grade math classes.
In Kindergarten, students creatively constructed figures out of pattern blocks, such as robots, castles, and hockey sticks. Many more creations were built, and the mathematicians estimated the number of blocks used and calculated the perimeter of the shapes. In first grade, architects designed cities out of vowel blends that may have included an ice cream store, roller coaster, beach, putting green, train tracks, roads, and many other features.
Fun was had by all!
