In fourth grade, we had been discussing the importance of our hands and fingers during the physical act of writing with paper and pencil, and even when typing.
Friday morning during the all school chapel, one speaker actually described our hands and fingers as clever. Building upon this idea, the fourth grade engaged in a STEAM activity building robotic hands using paper, string, straws, tape and outlines of our own hands.
We explored our own robotic hand creations and how we could make our models move even more realistic. The task was more challenging than it seemed and the fourth graders demonstrated creativity, perseverance, and teamwork!
