The goal for this year's FRC Robotics competition is to pick up small traffic cones or inflatable cubes and place them in designated locations on the playing field.
We have decided to build a robotic arm and gripper capable of picking up the cones and placing them at distances up to 48 inches from the robot. Our team just finished building the gripper, which was entirely made of 3D printed parts, hardware, and a Neo 550 brushless motor attached to a 50:1 gearbox. Pictured above are three members of the FRC Robotics team: Ethan Krupka '23, Zander Ritchey '24 and Maisum Walli '25 (from left to right).
