I would like to share an activity we did in my French classes this past week. We've been practicing past tense, present tense, and future tenses to talk about who we used to be, who we are today, and who we imagine we will be in five years' time. We've reflected on the past and also set goals for the new year.
We then brought it all back to the present moment with a short guided French meditation. The meditation was designed to simply note when our mind is wandering. Whenever we noticed that we were thinking about something from our past or something we have to do or will do in the future, we labeled those thoughts as "le passé" or "le futur" and then brought our awareness back to the breath and the
present moment.
