During engineering week in late February, the eighth-grade class had a unique experience at iFLY, an indoor skydiving facility, in King of Prussia.
Upon our arrival, an educator first introduced the science, engineering, and math involved with flying in vertical tunnels and skydiving. Students then witnessed how various balls and other objects behaved in the wind tunnel and the variables that affected their flight. Water, in particular, was fascinating and separated into particles.
Perhaps the most fun experience of the trip, students had the opportunity to fly one-on-one with an instructor in the wind tunnel and watch each other fly!
