In its return to rehearsals in fall 2020, the Middle School Improv Troupe performs with quick wit, comedic timing, and spontaneity.
During their first rehearsals this academic year, new and returning Improv Troupe members brought the laughs. Under the direction of Mrs. Laura Riker, students play classic improv games, getting to know each other and strengthening their skills as a troupe. Leaving group assignments and turn order to the "Spoons of Fate," students demonstrate their improvisation chops as individuals and as an ensemble.
Below, students play Boom Chicago. The first person establishes place and presents a problem, the second person establishes relationship, and the third person resolves the problem. The goal is to be as efficient with words as possible. When the problem is resolved, all three participants shout, "ta-dah!"
Give the Improv Troupe a hand, and stay tuned for future performances!
