The Story Class' collaboration with the Lower School will look a little different this year. 

Conducted all on Zoom, Story students will pair with  Downstairs Kindergarteners and work together to create a story. In our first session, we read Faith Ringgold's book, Tar Beach. 

Faith Ringgold, quilt artist and storyteller, expresses her stories both in writing and in her textile arts, and especially in her quilt-making.  Our project takes inspiration from Ringgold's art and story, which has her young protagonist, Cassie, flying over New York City at night.  The drawings of all of us flying over our special places will inspire the stories we create and the story quilts we make together.
