Lions Earn Awards at HOSA State Leadership Conference

Twenty Upper School students represented Moravian Academy at the 2019 Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference on Thursday, April 3rd through Friday, April 5th. The theme of this year’s conference, held at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge and Event Center in King of Prussia, PA, was “Define Your Purpose.”

Through competitional events like this one, the objective of HOSA is to promote health career choices. Students participate in individual or group events of their choice and study the topics throughout the school year in preparation.

Congratulations to the following students on earning awards at the conference:

Individual Competitions:

  • Luisa Capobianco ’21 earned a silver medal in the category of Behavioral Health.
  • Emily Alchaer ’21 earned a silver medal in the category of Prepared Speaking.

Team Competitions:

  • Avi Singh ’20, Navin Ferrari ’20, and Julius Ewungkem ’20 earned a gold medal in the category of Biomedical Debate.
  • Taylor Busch ’20, Karilyn Kruklitis ’20, and Maya Ettle ’20 earned a silver medal in the category of Creative Problem Solving
  • Our HOSA bowl team (Chasey Augustin ’20, Kyla Manja ’21, Ben Haddad ‘2o and Raymond Zelada ’20) earned fourth place.
