MA Third Grade Explores Sustainability at the Merle-Smith Campus

Just in time for Earth Day, third-grade students from the Downtown and Swain Campus visited the Merle-Smith Campus for a sustainability walking tour.

On April 18, 2023, during the sustainability tour, the students spent the day touring the Upper School campus and learning about the many ways Moravian Academy attempts to lower its carbon footprint - in other words, to be ‘green’!

Students visited and learned about three main areas:  the Solar Array, the no-mow area, and the Green Pond.  They also explored the community garden, the Athletic and Wellness Center, and the Apiary!
