Masks to Stay at Moravian Academy

May 14, 2021

On Thursday afternoon, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated individuals may resume indoor and outdoor activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing in most settings. Following that announcement, the PA Department of Health announced their masking order would be updated to reflect the guidelines provided by the CDC.

While these are important developments with which to familiarize ourselves, we must remember that the majority of our community is composed of students under the age of 12 who are not fully vaccinated and will not be fully vaccinated before the end of the year. The PA Department of Education is cognizant of the vulnerability of this young population; for this reason, they have indicated that masking and physical distancing should remain in place in schools and on school buses for the duration of the school year.

At Moravian Academy, the health and safety of our entire community remain a priority. Our mask and physical distancing policies remain unchanged and in effect through the end of the school year. This applies to events on campus, including Country Fair this weekend. We appreciate your continued commitment to the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff.
