The math department will be hosting the American Math Competition (AMC) on November 10, 2021, in person this year!
Here's what you need to know:
This competition is a national math competition that is composed of high-level math questions that are meant to challenge students.
The school will pay for in-person testing.
Generally, the competition is geared to test knowledge for those in honors geometry or higher.
There are two tests: The AMC 10 for students in 9th or 10th Grade and the AMC 12 for students in 11th or 12th grade.
The test is on November 10th (U day). We ask you to report for the test no later than 7:45 am. The test takes approximately 1.5 hours. You will miss your first-period class and some of your second-period class. Please check with your teachers to make sure they that they know you will be missing class that day. It is your responsibility to make up any work from any classes that you miss.
All responses must be received no later than Friday, October 1, 2021. No more tests can be ordered after the initial order is placed. Please only respond yes if you can miss class that day and you DEFINITELY are interested in taking the test.
Once we have a final number, we will determine the location of the test. We will be determining the location based on the number of responses. So once again, please only respond yes if you are definitely interested in sitting for the test.
