Merle-Smith Campus Winter Spirit Week 2022

Student Council presents a fun lineup of holiday festivities for Winter Spirit Week: December 12-16, 2022.

Lounge Wars (now through Dec 16)

  • Grades will decorate lounges during free periods 
  • Materials will be brought from home and construction paper can be purchased by the school
  • Judging will be on Thursday, December 15, by a panel of non-advisor staff and faculty. 

Spirit weeks plans:

  • Dec. 12 - Wonderland White Out - Dress in all white (Monochrome Monday)
  • Dec. 13 - Ugly Winter Sweater Day - First-graders will be joining us for chapel.
  • Dec. 14 - Wacky/Winter Hat Day - cool, winter, holiday, festive, goofy, whimsical
  • Dec. 15 - Plaid Day - lumberjack and flannel
  • Dec. 16 - Winter Character Dress Up for the Winter Games (Winter or Holiday movie character)

Winter Games (Dec. 16):

  • Competing advisories will be pulled from a hat of opt in advisories.
  • Halloween competitors cannot be in the games to share the opportunity.
  • Box Snowperson Building Relay - dressed in elf wear (hat and apron) - full advisories
  • Present Wrapping Relay - dressed in elf wear - full advisories
  • Keep the Snowflake Balloon In the Air tourney- one on one
  • Snowball Catching (soft fabric snowballs in audience by grade tossing to bins carried by competing advisories.*
  • One more TBD event
*protective eyewear for advisories participating
 

Community Service Opportunities

Can Drive
Matching dare from dining services (now through Dec. 16)

  • Can drive competition by grade.  Dining services will match item for item.  
  • Cans collected in the dining room. 

 

Calvary Moravian Church Angel's Tree (Deadline Dec. 7)

  • 6-7 children sponsored by MA with gifts and items for the holidays.

  • We will share this invite to participate out to advisories and those willing to participate will take on one of the children providing donated items for the holiday.
