NeXXgen STEM, a tutoring and mentorship program founded by Sierra Smith '23 and her Merle-Smith Campus peers, aims to inspire young females in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
NeXXgen mentors—current juniors and seniors at Moravian Academy with expertise in various STEM concentrations—are now looking to share their knowledge with female-identifying students in grades 6-8 at the Swain and Downtown Campuses.
All of our student-mentor meetings are conducted virtually and are tailored to the mentees' needs, interests, and availability. Lessons are conducted online, but we plan to have our students and mentors meet in person in May or June to connect, listen to guest speakers, and engage in interactive STEM activities!
If you're a Downtown or Swain student interested in pairing up with a NeXXgen mentor, apply online and complete the consent form below.
Mission
NeXXgen STEM is a non-profit organization aimed at inspiring females to pursue their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Our organization connects 11th and 12th-grade girls with talent in STEM to middle school girls across Pennsylvania-providing young students with personal role models that empower them to follow their passions and overcome biases.
We strive to fuel a passion for learning and discovery in girls, supporting them as they change the world and redefine what it means to be female.
