On Friday, November 18, 2022 middle school students on the Swain Campus participated in a community service day. Students were divided into four groups and traveled to different organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley to spend the morning volunteering.
Organized by the Swain Campus Community Service Trip Coordinator, Melissa Gaiser, students traveled to the Lehigh Valley Humane Society, Allentown Salvation Army, Gress Mountain Ranch, and Sand Island in Bethlehem.
Lehigh Valley Humane Society: Students made cat toys and spent time cuddling and playing with the cats and kittens waiting to be adopted.
Allentown Salvation Army: Students sorted coats that were delivered from the annual coat drive with WFMZ/The Phantoms. The coats and accessories were organized by gender and size, then bagged and tagged for distribution at a later date to the community.
Gress Mountain Ranch: Students helped feed and care for the animals that live on the ranch.
Sand Island in Bethlehem: Students picked up trash from the park and playground areas.
