The Middle School will have a non-uniform day on Friday, November 1. Students are encouraged to wear fall colors (orange, black, green, red, yellow) or may also wear a Halloween costume.
While students are not required to wear costumes, those students who do wish to participate are reminded of the following guidelines:
Costumes may not mock another student, faculty member, race, gender, culture, heritage, and religious or lifestyle preference.
Costume accessories that are deemed dangerous or similar to weaponry are not permitted.
Costumes that are provocative, revealing or sexual in nature are not permitted.
Do not wear masks or any item that will impede your vision or identity. Face painting should be minimal so that students' faces are recognizable.
Inflatable costumes are not permitted, as students will need to be able to move freely throughout the day across the campus.
Finally, all costumes should maintain the integrity of our school dress code.
Please understand that these guidelines are put in place to ensure the safety of all our students. If a student’s costume is found to be inappropriate, she/he will be asked to remove the costume.
Students are allowed to wear their costumes during the course of the day, but the costume must not interfere with the student’s duties and responsibilities, both in and out of class. Plan to wear costumes that are comfortable as they will be worn all day.
I look forward to seeing the creativity of our students when they arrive at school on Friday, November 1.
