Swain Pre-Kindergarten has been on Bald Eagle watch as Liberty and Freedom patiently take turns caring for two eggs.
Our Pre- K friends started a daily observation journal of the eagle's nest, which they will continue doing until the end of the year. The eagles returned from migration in January and Pre-K began watching the eagles fortify their nest after returning from Winter Break. Pre-K is documenting, with pictures and a few words, the eagles laying their eggs, caring for the eggs and each other, and eventually they will observe the eaglets being hatched. The last two seasons, no chicks have hatched. Hopefully, Liberty and Freedom will have better luck this year so our Pre - K friends can observe the hatching, feeding, and chicks taking their first flight.
