Recently, students in our Primer class learned about density in science using fall related items.
During our lesson, we discussed that an object's density influences whether objects float or sink. Objects with tightly packed molecules are denser and sink. Objects with more loosely packed molecules are less dense and float.
Based on our lesson, each student made a prediction as to whether their item would float or sink. We then categorized the items based upon their performance in a tub of water. The majority of our items floated!
