Rayna Malhotra '24 was awarded an expense-free trip to present research at the Luxembourg International Science Expo (LISE) in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.
Malhotra was the sole representative of the United States at the global event, which had 75 participants from 19 different countries. In a public exhibition held over the course of two days, the cohort of teen scholars presented their research. Malhotra's project was titled: A Novel Epigenetic Approach for Vascular Elastic Matrix Regeneration: Evaluating the Proteomic Interactions of siRNA-Based Gene Silencing in the EGFR Signaling Pathway of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms.
Participants also had the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister and Cabinet members of Luxembourg (in the photo above, Malhotra shares her research with Luxembourg's Minister of Finance, Yuriko Backes) as well as participate in a number of workshops and STEM-based learning activities from September 27 to October 2, 2023.
