Season of Giving replaces Holiday Happenings

December 03, 2021

An outward focus resonates strongly with the Swain community!  On the heels of our celebration of gratitude through the Harvest Feast in November, we welcome Swain’s inaugural Season of Giving, which will extend through Martin Luther King Jr. day on January 17, 2022.

Each week of the season will elicit support from the Swain Family toward an outreach opportunity. This past week we announced our continued partnership with Camelot House to help make wishes come true this holiday season for the children and families they support.  It is easier than ever this year to grant a wish for a deserving child with special needs!  Follow the link below to purchase gifts through Amazon’s Camelot House Wish List before December 17.  The list includes a wide array of items that are sure to bring joy to some very special children!  Be sure to select “Camelot for Children Gift Registry Address” at checkout and the gifts will be shipped directly to them.

Week 3 we will bring smiles to our friends at Fellowship Manor.  Students will be making cards and crafts to share with the residents.  Please feel free to send in cards that you would like us to share with them.  Each week we will bring you updates on our Season of Giving Campaign. Wishing you and your family all the best this season and thank you for helping us show how much we care!

Kindness Campaign – Our friends in PS, PK, and K will work together to fill the Kindness Lantern with 1,000 red & white pom-pom balls each representing an act of kindness.  Students in grades 1 – 4 will use 1,000 red and white links to form a Kindness Chain. Students in grades 5 – 8 will hang posters and use 1,000 post its to recognize and thank members of their community.
