Moravian Academy's Service Club and Special Needs Awareness Club joined forces in gathering club members to participate in the Lehigh Valley Polar Plunge hosted by the Special Olympics. The event took place on Saturday, February 18th.
Club members enjoyed warm hot chocolate while waiting their turn to take the chilly polar plunge into the Delaware River! The Special Olympics annually hosts members from the Lehigh Valley to visit Scott Park in Easton and take a short swim for a good cause. Along with fundraising done by Service Club and SNAC, all of the money raised by the event benefits Special Olympics athletes, children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Those who participated swam into the river on a day when it was 40ºF out. Warm tents to dry off in ended the day for the bundled-up club members
