Seventh Grades Pushes Beyond Comfort Zone for Overnight Retreat
To kick off the week, seventh-grade students traveled to Pocono Valley Resort in Reeders, PA, for an overnight field trip.
While they were immersed in a beautiful landscape by the lake, all students were able to partake in many of the fun and challenging activities: a giant swing, rock-climbing wall, two different ropes courses and a zip line across the lake, to name a few.
Students shared that they were pushed beyond their comfort levels thanks to encouragement of their peers and advisors. They connected with students they hadn’t had the opportunity to interact with much yet and they participated in activities they had never done before. For some, kayaking was a lesson in coordination, for others, getting hoisted up 35 feet in the air by their friends was a moment of trust. Nevertheless, if the team learned anything from this trip, it is that they are #strongertogether.
