Transitioning to Middle School is a big stride forward for our Fifth-grade learners, but luckily their friends in Middle School are eager to guide them every step of the way.
On Friday, January 15, Sixth-graders shared their favorite parts of being Middle Schoolers and the many new experiences that await current Fifth-graders, including
Teachers joined in on the fun, too, by leading a game of "Would You Rather?" (Would you rather eat pizza or chicken nuggets? Wake up early or stay up late? Play basketball or dance?) Afterward, students enjoyed a slideshow presentation about life and learning at the Middle School. Students were all-smiles under their masks, with the incoming Sixth-grade class feeling prepared to join learners at the Middle School.
During the next phase of the transition, Fifth-graders will be able to virtually join Middle School classroom lessons and activities via Zoom. Later in January, Seventh and Eighth-graders will answer questions during a panel for current Fifth-graders. On February 12, students will virtually experience four Sixth-grade classes. Our learners are looking forward to the sessions.
Parents of rising Sixth-graders are invited to join us for Fifth-Grade Family Night at the Middle School on Thursday, January 28, via Zoom. Contact the Admissions Office at admissions@mamail.net to RSVP for this opportunity to connect with other families and faculty while learning about the transformational experiences that lie ahead for your children.
