'Soil Your Undies' for Science

Written by Joanne Daniels | Sep 17, 2021 6:00:13 PM

We are beginning to explore ecology and the living and non-living things that are elements of ecosystems.

We learned about the importance of soil to many ecosystems and how it is the basis for much life on Earth. While soil itself is non-living, many creatures live in the soil and perform important functions like aerating it and being decomposers.

To learn about the activity taking place in soil, each of the three science sections buried a pair of all cotton 'undies' in the soil in the garden areas of the 7East patio. Students made predictions about what they think will happen over the next six to eight weeks to the soil and the undies! We will uncover them around Halloween; students are very excited to see what happens.
