On Friday, May 13, students from Mr. Sommer's Spanish art history course and from Ms. Wert's French 3 class (who are ending the year with their "les arts" unit), visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City!
For some of our young adults, this was their first field trip in years. Students were given the opportunity to learn more about Spanish and French artists and some of their most well-known works of art thanks to Mr. Sommers artistic expertise (in Spanish and English). Ms. Wert translated into French and students were given the opportunity to offer their own insights and observations in both languages throughout the morning.

Mr. Sommers, Mr. Axford and Ms. Wert agree: It was a wonderful way to spend a Friday, watching these students apply what they've learned thus far and blend language and art/culture in a real-world setting.
