First-Graders Share Traditions of St. Lucia Day

This week, our first-graders traveled from classroom to classroom to share the traditions of St. Lucia Day with our Lower School students.

St. Lucia day is celebrated annually on December 13th. The holiday marks the beginning of Christmas in Sweden. Each year, a Lucia girl is chosen to carry a tray of cocoa and cookies. She wears a crown with candles which is a symbol of light.
