In the story class's second collaborative story-making session with Kindergarten, we had a special visit from Quillan the porcupine.
He popped into our Zoom meeting to share some fun porcupine facts as well as be our inspiration for our story-making project. Quillan knows a lot about sewing and quilt making, he told us, because of the Native American tradition of using his quills in decoration and ornamentation of clothes and other objects.
We made pictures first, we are writing stories about our pictures, and we will make our stories into quilt blocks! Quillan can't wait to see what our story quilts will look like!
