Summer 2020 Update

Dear Moravian Academy Families,

We have made the difficult decision to cancel all summer camp and summer term programs for the summer of 2020.

We are extremely disappointed that we will not be able to run the hands-on, curiosity-based programs that our faculty and staff were so enthusiastic to bring to you. Unfortunately, based on the guidance from the Pennsylvania Board of Health and recommendations from the American Camp Association, we cannot safely open this summer. All registered campers will receive a full refund on their deposit and summer tuition. Those families will receive further details in a separate email.

When we made this decision, we also discussed the possibility of holding some of our programs virtually. However, after many deliberations, we all agree that the play-based, passion-fueled learning that defines our summer programs does not translate well to a virtual learning environment. Additionally, we discussed the mental and emotional needs of our amazing educators. Our faculty is the heart and soul of both our academic year and summer programs and this summer, we need them to rest and recharge so they can come back in the fall creative and fully prepared.

We also realize that our students need enrichment opportunities as well as avenues to continue learning. We are discussing potential alternatives for our summer programs and would like to understand better what you and your child would be interested in. Please fill out the survey below.

While we know this may not be the summer we were all hoping for, the health and safety of our students, their families, and our community are of utmost importance to us.

Sincerely,

Jeff Zemsky
