We had a lot of success last year, with bringing back this favorite past-time at Swain! We’d like to host a safe, accessible way for everyone in the school to be involved in the Halloween festivities.
Each child is invited to decorate a pumpkin in any way they’d like (paint, embellishments, carving, battery-operated lights, wherever your imagination takes you!
We will ask that all pumpkins get dropped off the morning of Friday, October 29th on top of a tarp and labeled area on the grass, by the McCann center entrance. We will display all of the pumpkins on tables set up along the sidewalk in that area. Students will then vote by division, by putting a ticket in a bag next to the pumpkin they’d like to vote for.
We will give out Target gift cards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in all four divisions. We discourage heavy parent involvement and highly encourage your child to unlock their creative skills to create their own masterpiece! Please note that they can use either a real pumpkin or a carve-able Halloween “prop” pumpkin, like what you’d find at Target.
