This week, PreK learners at Moravian Academy's Downtown Campus were visited by high-flying guests.
Megan and Bernie Antonovich, parents of BC '35, are both professional pilots. While BC and his class went for a walk outside, they transformed the space into an airplane complete with controls. Students returned to find their classroom was now Moravian Air Lions!
Each student received a plane ticket for their assigned seat aboard the flight and took a turn as captain or co-pilot. When asked where they were flying, learners were excited to announce that their destination was Japan.
The simulated flight included everything from a safety check to ensure the plane was ready for takeoff to snacks passed out by our flight attendants. Every step of the way, Mrs. and Mr. Antonovich explained what was happening to learners and answered their eager questions. We are grateful to our visitors for making this creative, immersive learning experience possible for our students.
