An opening activity in English 10 last week was to have students read William Carlos Williams' poem, "The Red Wheelbarrow."
After a few readings of the poem, students used their own (new!) boxes of crayons to represent the poem in any way they would like on a blank sheet of paper. We use this activity in English 10 as a way to show how each of us interprets literature differently because we all view the world differently.
In our study of English, we strive to find our unique voice in our writing and in our conversations with others as we learn and grow together. As you can see with the drawings, English 10 is off to a great start!
