With “CurioSity Day” replacing traditional “S” days in our Virtual School Schedule, dedicated time has been created for students in the Class of 2023 to complete FIRE Spring-semester Independent Projects.
Though this project is considered optional to complete this term, several students have chosen to embark on sophisticated, meaningful academic experiences. Foremost among them is Sierra Smith '23’s documentary video comparing and contrasting the current COVID-19 crisis to the infamous Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918-19.
Watch here as Sierra intersperses touching segments from sources with her own well-crafted exposition. Her project offers a fine example of the creativity and critical thinking on display every day at Moravian Academy, and we look forward to brighter days ahead when we will put COVID-19 into the history books.
