Three US Students Head to PMEA All-State Orchestra
Moravian Academy students Elena Capobianco '23, Krysta Nichols '21, and Yan Yu '23 have been accepted into the PMEA All-State Orchestra this year. It will be held online and will take place April 14 -17.
"I am glad to be able to participate at State Orchestra this year even though it is virtual, and I would like to thank Ms. Morrison for her work with us," says Krysta Nichols '21.
"I was ecstatic and very grateful to have been selected for the all state orchestra," said Yan Yu '23. "It felt great knowing that the countless hours spent practicing the excerpts yielded this wonderful result. I am looking forward to the rehearsals and using this opportunity to improve my techniques."
Elena Capobianco. '23 shares Yu's gratitude. She says, "My admission into the Pennsylvania state orchestra is a goal that I have been ultimately working towards. It is a major step in my high school orchestra experience that I am honored to take. I owe my success to my private teacher, Phyllis Lavetsky, as well as Ms. Morrison who introduced the program to me when I was in seventh grade."
Moravian Academy wishes our musicians all the best as they prepare for the event. Congratulations to all!
