Uniting Voices for Black History Month
The seventh-grade U.S. History classes are learning about Black History through music, imagery, and personal stories.
The purpose is for our students to develop a deeper and more meaningful understanding and appreciation of Black History through vastly diverse African music. The Uniting Voices Choir (previously known as the Children's Choir of Chicago) presents an annual concert to celebrate Black History Month.
By watching the 2022 concert, students are learning not only about African-American history through a North American perspective but through African-Peruvian, African-Jamaican, and Nigerian perspectives with the themes of Remembering, Reclaiming, and Reconnecting.
This year's Uniting Voices Black History concert is upcoming on February 27, at 11:00 AM.
